Movie Saturday– Alice in Wonderland

Good Morning readers! Today is Movie Saturday! We will be looking at Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. It opens in theaters on March 5, 2010, and I can’t wait to see it! Below is the plot taken from here.

Starring: Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Matt Lucas, Mia Wasikowska, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall, Christopher Lee, Paul Whitehouse, Barbara Windsor

From Walt Disney Pictures and visionary director Tim Burton comes an epic 3D fantasy adventure “Alice in Wonderland,” a magical and imaginative twist on some of the most beloved stories of all time. Johnny Depp stars as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, the Cheshire Cat, and of course, the Mad Hatter. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror. The all-star cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Crispin Glover; Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay. Capturing the wonder of Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865) and “Through the Looking-Glass” (1871) with stunning, avant-garde visuals and the most charismatic characters in literary history, “Alice in Wonderland” comes to the big screen in Disney Digital 3D™ on March 5, 2010.

—————-

Now many of us grew up on reading the book, or watching the classic animated version of this movie. I also remember the Mickey Mouse adaptation called “Thru The Mirror”. The looking glass/mirror is a big part of the book. I really don’t know why it has been left out of the animated version. Hopefully this new version will include it.

Thinking about the mirror, also makes me think of the song, “Man in The Mirror” by Michael Jackson. Below is some of the lyrics:

I’m Gonna Make A Change,
For Once In My Life
It’s Gonna Feel Real Good,
Gonna Make A Difference
Gonna Make It Right . . .

I’m Starting With The Man In
The Mirror
I’m Asking Him To Change
His Ways
And No Message Could Have
Been Any Clearer
If You Wanna Make The World
A Better Place
(If You Wanna Make The
World A Better Place)
Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change
(Take A Look At Yourself, And
Then Make A Change)

Hopefully you are following where I am going with this. As Christians, when we accept Christ, we are a changed person. Sometimes that doesn’t always happen, and we have to make the effort to change as well, by looking at that “Man in the Mirror”.

Until next time readers, God Bless!
