Questions…

Good afternoon everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a little while since I last wrote. I want to apologize about that.

Life has been really crazy for me these last couple of weeks. I went to the ER with asthma issues. Along with that, my  remaining grandparent passed away April 4th.

A lot has been going through my head lately, mostly related to my grandpa’s passing.

A little back story of my grandpa. He and my grandma were married I believe, 51 years, before she passed away in 1998. What an amazing marriage they had. He was a very outspoken person, but also kept to himself. There are things I really wished I would have talked to him about before is Alzheimer’s got so bad, you couldn’t carry on a conversation with him. I knew my grandpa grew up Catholic, but he was non practicing when I knew him. He made wise decisions about money, which with those decisions, he got to enjoy life after retirement. He was 87 when he passed. He lived a long and wholesome life.

I guess the questions I would ask him, would be the following if we could sit down and chat.

How did you keep your marriage alive and happy all those years?

What are your beliefs about God and Christianity?

I am sure there would be more, but those are the main ones…

————–

Today at church, Pastor Rodney mentioned  questions we have for God, and how those questions really can’t be answered until we meet our maker. Mostly they are questions that begin with the word… Why? I guess the only answer we can have to questions we have for God, should be answered by trusting Him. I know that is hard, and even I am dealing with that right now.

Why is life prolonged at the time of death, when the inevitable is going to happen?

Why do not so great things happen at the worst timing?

—————————-

If you are the praying type, please pray for my family during these emotional times.

Until next time readers, God Bless..

What’s in a Name?

Good afternoon readers. I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

I was scrolling through my news feed on Facebook a minute ago, and a blog post idea came to me after watching a video a friend had posted.

Todays question that I have for you is:

What is a name?

Have you ever thought about why your parents named you the name they did? Do you even know what your name means?

Many people are named after a person in the Bible, or even a family member. Some people are named after a movie star, or singer.

In some cultures, a name defines the person who has the name. Does a person’s name make their personality? I am not an expert by no means, but I believe the person makes his/her own personality.

Watch the following video and let me know what you think. Would you go this far in naming your child?

So… What are your thoughts? Is the father justified in naming his child that way?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Making Fruit

Hello readers! Doesn’t this picture look delicious? I like several types of fruit. What kind do you like?

This post today has nothing to do with the fruit we eat. I am talking today about spiritual fruit. Now there are different types of what I think of spiritual fruit.

The first type of spiritual fruit I wanna talk about is making disciples for Christ. The Bible tells us that we are to go out into the world and multiply.

Matthew 28:19 ( American Standard)

Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Witness to people. Let them know of the love of Christ.

It is my goal to help lead as many people as I can to Jesus Christ.

The other kind of fruit I wanna talk about is, well, making babies. Several of my friends are pregnant, or just had babies. God commands us to produce fruit as well and raise them to be Godly people.

John 15:16 ( The Message)

“You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.

I hope this post made some sense.

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Happy New Year!– Resolution (#5)

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve.

With the remaining five days of 2009, I wanted to share with you five resolutions for 2010 that I am going to try really hard to follow.

Resolution (#5)

Well readers, we have made it to the end of my countdown. I hope you have enjoyed all of my resolutions and made some of your own for 2010.

As I am writing this, I have been married a total of 188 days to my beautiful wife Nicole. We have been together a lot longer than that though. We celebrated our five years of dating on Nov. 12, 2009.

Married life is amazing as it is right now. Nicole and I have learned a lot more about each other after getting married. Even though we have only been married a little over six months, in the coming year I want to be a better husband. I want to do this by being the leader God has designed me to be for her. I want to show her more love than I already do. I want to share more of my time with her. I want to serve her more than I already do as well.

I can’t express in words the love that I feel for this woman. She is the best. She compliments me so well it’s crazy. Thank you God for this amazing woman.

Well readers, that is it. My resolutions for 2010.

May God bless you and yours in the new year.

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Merry Christmas Eve

I am writing this while my wife and I are driving to Texas to see family. It has been crazy with all the wind and snow. Sitting here in the passenger seat isn’t my cup of tea when the conditions are like this and I don’t have control over the vehicle I am in. So I apologize to my wife for being the “driving instructor.”

Anyway readers, I wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas. God Bless you all. See you in a few days.
