College Football and Jesus

Hello readers and sports fans! It has been a little over a month since my last post, and I apologize about that.

Well everyone, the college football season is almost here. Sept. 2nd is just around the corner! ARE YOU READY??

Here in Oklahoma, college football is a huge thing. Who you root for can be a factor in so many things in life you wouldn’t believe. I have heard that it can even cost you your job.

As you can see in the picture, ” Get Intense” in the slogan alongside the team mascot of the team I root for, the Oklahoma State Cowboys.

I was thinking, shouldn’t we “Get Intense” for Jesus? Why can’t we be fired up for Him like we get fired up for any sporting event?

The Bible mentions something about being luke warm for Christ:

Rev. 3:15-16 (The Message)

“I know you inside and out, and find little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot—far better to be either cold or hot!16 You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit.

Let’s get on fire for Christ!

I leave you with this question today:

What are you doing to get on fire for Christ?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Talent vs. Skill

Good morning readers! Today is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma City.

Today I wanted to talk about skills. What skills do you have? Do you play and instrument? Are you a good speaker? Are you good at sports?

I recently joined NorthChurch.tv‘s softball team. I used to play baseball back when I was younger and thought I would give softball a try. Let me tell you, the majority of the skills I had are there, but softball is way different than baseball. I am having to learn some different skills and it is kinda difficult.

For those who don’t know the difference between a talent and a skill, maybe this will help.

Talent is something that you are naturally good at, and a skill is something you have to work at to be good.

I guess my thought for today is I know that God gives certain talents, but does he give you the ability to learn certain skills over others?

So what do you think?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Tech. Tuesday — Guitar Praise

Good morning readers! It is Tech. Tuesday! The other day, I got a xbox 360 elite from my wife as a college graduation present. It came with two games and I purchased NCAA College Football 2010. This last weekend I was thinking about video games and the old original Nintendo and the games I played as a kid. I remember Super Mario Bros. , Duck Hunt, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Donkey Kong, etc.. Those were really fun. I also remember one game that my friend had. It was a Christian game called BibleMan. We played it on a PC, but I used to think that was so odd.

Well I was in a Christian bookstore recently and saw another Christian video game. This time it was for both PC and Mac. With the popularity of the Guitar Hero games and Rock  Band, I think this was a good move. It is called Guitar Praise.

It features 50 songs from Christian rock artists like tobyMac, dcTalk, Hawk Nelson, and more! I only wish it could run on my new xbox. For more information about Guitar Praise, click here .

What do you think readers? Are Christian video games worth buying/playing?

Until next time readers, God Bless!
