One Year.. A Reflection of Time

Good evening readers! I hope everyone is doing well tonight. Does everyone realize what day it is today?

Today is the one year anniversary of this blog. That’s right. I made it, and it has flown by!

Tonight I wanted to reflect on the last year. I hope I don’t bore you.

Just a few statistics for you:

1) In the last year, I have posted 114 blog entries, tagged 955 words, and created 68 categories.

2) This blog has had a total of 129 comments, and has blocked 1317 spam comments.

3) I have 9 active subscribers that get an email each time I post.

4) My Facebook fan page has 90 fans.

5) My Twitter account has 249 followers, and I am listed 103 times.

And… You know what??

I give all the glory to God! I started this blog to use it as my quiet time. I wanted to document what I was learning from God. Then it became a ministry to reach out to others with, while expressing my opinion on different topics, books, movies, etc.

I want to personally thank all of you that read my blog each time I post. I really means a lot. I want to thank my wife for letting me write.

I want to leave you with the motivation behind this blog. It can be found on the ” About This Blog” page as well.

I am a Christian living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,USA. This blog is a log of my adventures with God starting 12/13/09. The title of this blog is based off of the scripture Romans 8:15 :

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?”–The Message.

So with that said.. I look forward to the next year of blogging. I hope that you take the journey with me.

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Jesus Flashes Mall In Oklahoma City!

Good evening readers. Probably a lot of you are wondering about the title of this post.

Well even though I wasn’t there, I wanted to share this with you. The spirit of God arrived at Quail Springs Mall last Saturday.

A flash mob of choral singers entered the food court, and started singing Handel’s Messiah. The news about the mob must have spread, because it looked like a ton of people showed up with cameras.

Check out the video I found.

Can you say awesome? If that didn’t make you get into the Christmas spirit, I don’t know what will.

Good job guys!

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Life is Short..

Good evening readers. I hope you are doing well tonight.

Tonight I wanted to talk about life and death. I know that is a really serious subject for a lot of us, but I has just been on my mind lately.

The thoughts were sparked from a song I heard on the radio today calledBlink”. Click on the link to play the song and read the lyrics.

In the lyrics, it describes how short life is and how within a blink of an eye, God can take us from this great Earth. It also made me think about how precious life is. A few questions came to mind as I listened to this song.

Am I taking advantage of the time I have here?

How am I using my time wisely?

Am I witnessing to people?

Am I loving others the way the Christ wants me to?

So many things were brought to mind.

I think it was maybe an eye opener for me.

I dunno… What do you think?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Talent vs. Skill

Good morning readers! Today is a beautiful day here in Oklahoma City.

Today I wanted to talk about skills. What skills do you have? Do you play and instrument? Are you a good speaker? Are you good at sports?

I recently joined NorthChurch.tv‘s softball team. I used to play baseball back when I was younger and thought I would give softball a try. Let me tell you, the majority of the skills I had are there, but softball is way different than baseball. I am having to learn some different skills and it is kinda difficult.

For those who don’t know the difference between a talent and a skill, maybe this will help.

Talent is something that you are naturally good at, and a skill is something you have to work at to be good.

I guess my thought for today is I know that God gives certain talents, but does he give you the ability to learn certain skills over others?

So what do you think?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Music Monday — Never Alone

Good afternoon readers! Today is Music Monday and I wanted to share a song with you that has been hitting my heart for the longest time. It is Barlow Girl’s Never Alone.

Throughout my life, I have doubted the existence of God. Whether it be an event that was significant in my life, a death, or depression, that thought has come into my mind.

By listening to this song and becoming a Christian, I know that no matter what happens in my life, God is present and in control. Things happen for a reason, and God will be there no matter what. I, and every other human being on the face of this Earth, are Never Alone.

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Music Monday — Radio and You

Good afternoon readers! Today is Music Monday! What radio station do you listen to? What genre of music do you enjoy the most?

I have been asked these questions over the last week, so I thought I would make this a blog post for Music Monday.

Currently, I am tuned into Air 1. Here in Oklahoma City, it is 90.9, but it is broadcast in over 200 stations in North America, and online at Air1.com. If you aren’t familiar with Air 1, it is a Christian radio station that plays more Christian rock than any other form of Christian music.

Now when it comes to the genre of music that I like the most, I really don’t have one particular one. I like all sorts of music, and have a pretty big collection that contains a wide variety.

So readers, what do you like? What radio station is currently playing in your car?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

* I and this blog do not get paid to share this with you.
