Scripture Thursday– 1 John 4:12

Morning readers! Today is Scripture Thursday, and we will be looking at 1 John 4:12.

1 John 4:12 (NLT)

No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.

Now let’s look at different translations to see different meanings.

(ASV) No man hath beheld God at any time: if we love one another, God abideth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

(The Message) No one has seen God, ever. But if we love one another, God dwells deeply within us, and his love becomes complete in us—perfect love!

(KJV) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

So what does this mean?

In my opinion, I think that this is saying that no one has seen God in the physical sense of the word. When God and the Holy Spirit lives in us and is alive and active in us, He is “brought to life” for others to see. Forgive me if I am wrong, but that is what I take from that.

What do you think?

Until next time readers, God Bless!

Scripture Thursday– Romans 12:9

Morning readers! Today is Scripture Thursday! Today we are going to look at a verse in Romans.

Romans 12:9

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. (NLT)

Now let’s look at it in different translations. I think it is interesting sometimes to do that, because the translation can say something different.

(ASV) Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

(The Message) Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good.

(KJV) Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good

Love is really the answer, no matter how you say it. Don’t pretend to love someone. Love them as Christ would.

Until next time readers, God Bless!
